Fleet map and Map view

Map view puts a table's rows on a map, one pin per row, by a latitude and a longitude column. It works on any table, not only vehicles — clients with addresses, delivery stops, anything with coordinates. Maps are drawn on OpenStreetMap, with "© OpenStreetMap contributors" shown on every map.

Adding a map view

From a sheet's view tabs, choose Add view → Map. The New map dialog asks for:

  • Latitude column and Longitude column — both have to be number columns on the same page. If the table already has columns named Latitude/Longitude (or their Polish or German equivalents), Quanty picks them for you: "Picked by the column name. Check it before you create the map." A table with no such columns can add them on the spot with Add Latitude and Longitude columns.
  • Label pins with — an optional column shown as each pin's title.
  • Colour pins by — an optional column; each of its values gets its own colour, exactly like a select column's options.
  • Direction in degrees (optional) — a number column holding a heading. With one set, each pin is drawn as an arrow pointing the way the row is heading rather than a plain dot.
  • Show on the card — up to a set number of fields shown in the pin's popup and in the row list beside the map.

Working with the map

  • Search and filter. Search rows by text, and filter by any card field with a handful of repeating values (a status, a type). Filters here are personal: "Only for you: nobody else sees this filter."
  • The row list beside the map can be shown or hidden, and stays in step with what is filtered on the map.
  • Rows without coordinates are counted, not silently dropped: the footer reports how many have empty coordinates and how many have coordinates Quanty could not read (out of range or not a number), with a hint to open the table and fill them in.
  • The pin limit is 5000. Past that, "Only the first shown of count rows are on the map. Narrow the view with a filter to see the rest."
  • Refreshing. Positions refresh every minute while the map tab stays open, so a table fed by telematics or an automation stays current without a manual reload.

Sharing a map

A map view can be shared by public link like other views. Quanty Ghost narrows what a shared map shows:

  • A ghost latitude or longitude column leaves no pins at all, because the coordinates are what places a row on the map in the first place.
  • A ghost label, colour or direction column drops that part only: blank titles, no colours, no arrows.
  • A ghost card field is left out of the popup.

Fleet map

The fleet map is the TMS add-on's own map: every vehicle every telematics connection reports, live, with the vehicle list beside it. It is not a map view you configure — it exists once the TMS add-on is on and a telematics connection is set up, and it always reads the same source: your vehicles' current positions.

  • Positions refresh every 30 seconds while the tab is open; a refresh never recenters the map out from under you.
  • Search by plate, driver or place, and filter by state (driving, idling, stopped, offline), by connection, and by assignment (everyone, assigned to a person, not assigned).
  • Legend: arrows point where a vehicle is heading.
  • A vehicle's detail shows its last position, address, driver, who it is assigned to, and Show route for its recent path. Admins can also Assign to person and Change type from there.
  • Visibility follows table access, not a separate permission: "Some vehicles are not shown: positions follow the access to the table they are written to." See Telematics for the exact rule.

The fleet map and a Vehicles table's own map view show the same positions, read two different ways: the fleet map reads every connected vehicle directly, while a map view on a Vehicles table reads whatever the sync last wrote into that table's rows.
