Organizations & roles
An organization (also called a workspace) is the top-level container in Quanty: it owns the workbooks, files, integrations and billing. You can belong to several organizations and switch between them; one of them is your default.

Roles
Every member has exactly one organization role:
| Role | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full organization control, including billing, limits, ownership transfer and deletion |
| Admin | Manage members and invitations, create workbooks, manage most settings |
| Member | Standard access to the organization and its workbooks |
| Viewer | Read-only access to the organization |
Viewer is enforced across the entire platform: viewers cannot edit sheets, upload files, create automations, or use any of the chat tools that write. A viewer's chat can still read and answer questions.
Workbooks additionally have their own member lists with workbook-level roles (including contributor for people who work in the sheet and files of that workbook).
Members and invitations
Manage people under Settings → Organizations → Members:
- Invite by email, choosing a role and an optional custom message. Invitations expire and can be resent or cancelled while pending.
- Invited people appear as "Invited as
role· Expiresdate" until they accept. - Members can be removed, and anyone except the owner can leave.
Quanty is invite-only: an invitation is also what authorizes a new account to sign up at all (see Security & MFA).
Seats
Your plan sets a seat limit. Occupied seats count active members plus pending invitations, so an outstanding invitation reserves its seat. When every seat is used, the members page explains: "All limit seats are in use (occupied occupied, including pending invitations). Remove a member or upgrade the plan to invite more people."
AI budget and spend limits
The Budget & limits tab controls how much AI the organization may use beyond what the token allowance already enforces:
- Monthly AI budget — an org-wide cap on AI spend. "Caps AI spend for the whole organization. The owner pays for usage." Set a number or No limit. Owner only.
- Member AI spend limits — a monthly cap per member: "Monthly cap on each member's AI usage. Leave empty for no limit." Each row shows the member's month-to-date AI spend / limit; admins can set limits for everyone except the owner.
When a cap is reached, AI actions stop with a clear error until the month rolls over or the limit is raised.
Changing roles and transferring ownership
From the members list you can Make Admin, Make Member, or Make owner. Making someone owner is a real transfer:
Transfer ownership
"They become responsible for billing, and the organization's plan limits will follow their subscription. You will become an admin." Ownership transfer is owner-only and takes effect immediately.
After a transfer, seat and workbook limits re-sync from the new owner's subscription.
Organization identity
Owners and admins can upload an organization logo, shown in the top bar and settings. The organization also has a name, slug and description editable under General.
Danger zone
- Leave Organization — available to everyone except the owner.
- Delete Organization — owner only, confirmed by typing the organization's name. Deletion removes the organization and its content.
