Dashboard widgets

A widget is one tile of a dashboard. Select a widget to open its settings in the panel on the right: Data decides where its values come from, Appearance how it looks. A live preview at the top shows the result before you click Apply.

The settings of a bar chart bound to a table.
The Fracht według klienta bar chart selected on the dashboard, and Chart settings on the right: a preview of the bars, the Data tab with Series 1, Source table Zlecenia transportowe, Labels (group by) Klient, Value Fracht EUR and Aggregation Sum, and Cancel and Apply

Before you start

  • Changing widgets needs edit rights on the dashboard (members and admins).
  • A widget bound to a table reads it with your organization's access rules; nothing in the table changes.

The widgets

The Add tab groups the widgets into Charts, Numbers and Content.

WidgetGroupWhat it shows
Bars, Columns, Line, Area, Donut, Pie, Stacked bars, Stacked columns, Radar, FunnelChartsA Chart widget of that kind.
KPINumbersOne number with a label, an icon, a change and a trend line.
ProgressNumbersA value against a target, as a bar or a ring.
Ranked listNumbersThe top items with their values.
TextContentA note in Markdown.
ImageContentA picture you upload or link.
SectionContentA heading that groups the widgets after it.

A Table widget (rows and columns of values, up to 20 rows and 8 columns) appears in dashboards the AI builds and is changed the same way.

Bind a widget to a table

KPIs, charts, progress and ranked lists can take their values from a table. In Data, choose From the table (or Manual value / Manual rows to type them) and set:

SettingWhat it meansExample
Source tableThe table to read.Zlecenia transportowe
Data rangeThe page of the table.Zlecenia transportowe
Labels (group by)The column whose values become the bars, slices or list items.Klient
ValueThe column to add up. Row count counts rows instead.Fracht EUR
AggregationSum, Average, Count, Minimum or Maximum. Count counts the cells of the value column that hold a number; to count rows, pick Row count as the value.Sum
SortingNatural, Value, descending, Value, ascending, Label A–Z, Label Z–A.Value, descending
Item limit (Top N)How many items to show; the chart notes the rest, for example "Top 8 of 10 rows by value".8
ColorAutomatic or a colour for the series.Automatic

"Choose data to see a preview" shows until the widget has data. Refresh data in the dashboard header recalculates every bound widget.

Series

A chart has one or more Series, each with its own Series name, table and columns (Add series, Remove series). Stacked bars, stacked columns and radar compare two to four series: "This chart type compares two to four series. Add another series in the Data tab." "Donut and pie charts show the first series only."

Chart kinds

KindGood for
BarsComparing categories with long names.
ColumnsComparing categories or periods side by side.
LineA value over time.
AreaA value over time, with the volume visible.
DonutShares of a whole; can show Total in the centre with a Caption under the total ("e.g. Orders").
PieShares of a whole.
Stacked bars, Stacked columnsCategories split into two to four series.
RadarSeveral categories at once. "A radar needs at least three categories."
FunnelSteps of a process: "A funnel shows its steps from the largest to the smallest." Each step shows its share Of the first step and Of the previous step.

Chart options in Appearance:

  • Value labels: the numbers on the bars or slices.
  • Legend: Automatic, Shown or Hidden.
  • Number format: Automatic, Number, Percent, Currency or Compact (1.2K).
  • Unit: "e.g. kg, PLN". "A currency code such as PLN or EUR formats the values as money."

A chart shows up to 24 points; slices beyond that gather under Other.

At or over the target, the widget says Target reached.

Ranked list

Rows come From the table (labels, value, aggregation, sorting) or as Manual rows (Add row: Label, Value, Note (optional)). Rows shown sets how many; "A list holds up to 12 rows." Number format and unit work as for KPIs.

Text and section

  • Text: Markdown works here, as the hint shows: # heading, **bold**, - list, [link](https://example.com). A new text widget starts with "Your note…".
  • Section: a heading ("New section") that starts a group of widgets; give it a full row to divide the page.

Image

The Image widget shows a picture you add in Image settings: "Drop an image here, paste it, or click to choose one", or a link to a picture.

SettingWhat it means
PicturePNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB. SVG is not accepted.
Alt text"What the image shows, for people who cannot see it".
FitFill the card or Show whole image.
CaptionA line under the picture.
Replace / RemoveChange or take away the picture.

Uploaded pictures count towards your organization's storage. When it is full: "Your organization is out of storage space. Free some space or add a storage pack, then try again."

Good to know

  • Manual values stay. A KPI or list with manual values never changes on Refresh data; use them for targets or numbers from outside Quanty.
  • A filter applies by table. Dashboard filters narrow every widget bound to the same table (see Dashboards).
  • Sizes. S, M, L and Full are a quarter, half, three quarters and a whole row.
