Home and the sidebar
Home is where Quanty opens. Above it runs the top bar with your organization and your account; on the left is the sidebar that leads to every area of the app. Home itself starts with a box where you ask the AI for anything, then shows your workspaces, the projects you worked on last and news from Quanty.
Before you start
- Home and the sidebar are the same for every plan and role. Some parts appear only with a plan, an add-on or a role; each section below says when.
- Opening Home costs nothing. A message you send from the Home composer is answered in Chat, and that answer spends AI credits like any chat answer (see AI assistant).
- Without a paid plan the AI features are off, so the Home composer is locked (see Billing and credits).
The window at a glance
| Part | Where | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Top bar | Across the top | The sidebar button, the Quanty logo (it opens Home), the organization switcher, and on the right Support, notifications and your avatar. |
| Sidebar | On the left | The main areas, your shortcuts, workspaces and agents, and Settings at the bottom. |
| Page | In the middle | Home, or whatever you opened. |
| Chat button | Bottom right | Opens the chat with your team and the AI, from any page. Shortcut ⌘K / Ctrl+K. |
Under the top bar a banner appears when the organization's plan needs attention (see Getting started).
The top bar
The organization switcher
The switcher shows the organization you are in, with its plan as a badge: No plan, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Custom. Click it (Switch organization) to open the menu:
- Find organization... filters the list as you type.
- The list of your organizations. Your default organization is at the top, and a tick marks the one you are in. An organization where your membership is pending or suspended is listed but greyed out and cannot be opened.
- All Organizations opens Settings, Organizations.
- New organization opens the form to create one. Anyone may create an organization and becomes its admin.
Each organization has its own workspaces, members, plan and AI credits (see Organizations and roles).
Support
The ⓘ button (Support) opens:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Help center | Opens the help page in the app. |
| Documentation | Opens these docs in a new tab. |
| Contact us | Opens the same help page in the app. |
Running jobs
While a presentation or dashboard is being generated, an indicator appears next to the bell: "Presentations and dashboards being generated". It lists each one with its state (In queue, Working…, Ready, Failed), Open, and Cancel while it has not started yet. It disappears when nothing is running.
Notifications
The bell (Notifications) lists what happened for you, with Mark all as read. An invitation to another organization appears here as "Anna Nowak invited you to join Firma Testowa" with Accept and Decline. With nothing new: "You're all caught up".
The avatar menu
A ring around your avatar shows how much of the AI credits is used. Hover it for the numbers: "AI credits used: 1,200 of 5,000", the percentage, and whose credits they are: "Shared by everyone in your organization this period." or "Your monthly limit, set by an admin.". Near the end it adds "Almost used up.", and at the end "Used up, so AI features are paused for now."
Click the avatar for the menu:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Balance | Total and Remaining credits, the same numbers as the ring. |
| Your name and e-mail | Who is signed in. |
| Set your status | Active (automatic), Away, Do not disturb, Out of office, Clear status (see below). |
| My account | Opens Settings, Account (see Getting started). |
| What's new | What's new in Quanty: "The latest changes, newest first." New entries are marked New. |
| Theme | System, Light or Dark. |
| Language | English, Polski or Deutsch. |
| Log out | Signs you out. |
Away and Do not disturb ask For how long: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, Until the end of today, Until tomorrow morning, Until the end of the week or Until I change it. With Do not disturb, "Notifications are silenced". Out of office opens a dialog with Last day away and Note (optional): "Your team sees it beside your name in Messages, and people who write to you get a short notice." Turn on saves it. Your status shows as a dot on your avatar.
The sidebar
Main items
| Item | What it opens | Shown |
|---|---|---|
| Home | This page. | Always |
| Chat | Your team's channels and direct messages, and the AI conversation (see Chat). A badge counts unread messages. | Always |
| TMS | "Orders, fleet, pallets and billing in one place" (see TMS). | Only with the TMS add-on |
| Templates | Ready-made tables (see Templates). | Always |
| Files | Every document of the organization (see Files). | Always |
| Integrations | Connections to e-mail, Google Sheets and other services (see Integrations). | Always |
Below the items come the groups. Each group header folds the group open or closed, and Quanty remembers that in your browser.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts is your own list of the things you use most. Nobody else sees it.
- To pin something, choose Add to shortcuts in its menu. You can pin projects, folders, tables, kanbans, views, dashboards, forms, presentations, automations, files and folders in Files. You can also drag files from Files onto the group: "Drop to pin".
- The group shows 6 shortcuts, then Show more (8) and Show less.
- Drag a shortcut to change the order. Remove from shortcuts takes it off the list.
- Empty, it says "Pin a project or view here".
- You can have up to 100: "You have reached the limit of 100 shortcuts. Remove one to add another."
- While the organization is read-only, shortcuts cannot be changed.
AI Secretary
AI Secretary lists your organization's phone secretaries, one row per secretary, plus All secretaries and, for admins, New secretary. The group appears only on the Gold, Platinum and Custom plans, and only once a secretary exists. The first one is set up from Integrations (see AI Secretary).
Workspaces
Workspaces has one row per workspace of the organization. A lock marks a private workspace. Click a row to open the workspace page. Admins also see New workspace at the end, as long as the organization is not read-only. How workspaces, folders and projects fit together is on Projects, tables and views.
Agents
Agents shows Quanty and the first 2 agents of your organization, then More.
- Click an agent for Open chat (a new AI conversation with that agent) or Edit agent (not for Quanty).
- More opens a list with Search agents… and View all, which opens the Agents page.
Agents and their skills are on Agents.
The bottom of the sidebar
- No plan yet: a card that appears when the organization has no paid plan. Admins read "AI features are off for this organization. Upgrade to switch them on." with Upgrade. Members read "AI features are off for this organization. An administrator can switch them on."
- Settings: your account, preferences and the organization's settings (see Getting started).
Inside a project and in TMS
The sidebar changes shape with where you are. Inside a project it becomes the project rail with the project's tables, views, dashboards, presentations, forms and automations (see Projects, tables and views). In TMS it becomes the TMS menu, and inside an AI Secretary it shows that secretary's pages. In these shapes, Shortcuts turns into a button above Settings that opens your shortcuts as a menu.
Collapse, resize and reorder
- The button at the far left of the top bar hides the sidebar and brings it back. On a phone, the menu button opens it over the page.
- Drag the right edge of the sidebar to make it wider or narrower: from 180 to 400 pixels. With the edge focused, the arrow keys move it in steps.
- Hover a group header to see its grip, then drag the group to another place: "Drag to reorder. Keyboard: Space, arrow keys, Space".
Collapse, width, group order and folded groups are remembered in your browser.
Home
The greeting and the composer
Home greets you by name and time of day: "Good morning, Kasia" from 5:00, "Good afternoon, Kasia" from 12:00, "Good evening, Kasia" from 18:00, and "Still at it, Kasia?" from 23:00. Below it: What do you want to get done today? The box shows changing examples, such as "Summarize this week’s new orders by client" or "Which invoices are overdue, and by how much?".
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Agent (the round orb on the left) | Who do you want to talk to?: Search agents, Quanty ("Your assistant for everything in the organization"), your agents, and Manage agents. Your choice is remembered. |
| + (Add files, mentions and more) | Add files, Mention a file or table (types @ so you can pick one), Use a skill, and Internet search. |
| Internet search | Fast search ("Quick lookup of current facts and pages"), Agent research ("Thorough multi-source research: slower, costs more") or Off ("The assistant searches the web only when it decides to"). When it is on, a chip in the box shows the mode; click it to turn it off. |
| Mode chip (Auto) | Answer mode: Fast ("Quickest: limited tools"), Auto ("Balanced default") or Deep ("Thorough: deep web research"). Under Model: Auto ("Picks the right model for each message: Sonnet for quick replies, Opus for complex work") or one of the listed models. |
| Microphone | Speak instead of typing; your words appear in the box. |
| Send | Sends the message (see What Send does). |
Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line. You can also paste files into the box.
Suggestions
Under the box, Try one of these offers four starters. A click puts a full request in the box for you to change or send; it does not send by itself.
| Chip | What it puts in the box |
|---|---|
| Summarize my week | "Summarize what changed in my projects this week and what needs my attention." |
| Build a dashboard | "Build a dashboard with the most important numbers from my projects." |
| Write an email | "Help me write a short, friendly email to a client about a delayed delivery." |
| Research a topic | "Find the latest news about fuel prices in Europe and summarize what it means for us." It also turns on Fast search if internet search was off. |
What Send does
Send opens Chat on its AI side and continues there ("Opening the chat"): a new conversation with the agent you picked, your text, files, mentions, skill, answer mode, model and internet search all carried over. The answer arrives in Chat (see Chat and AI assistant).
When AI is off for the organization, the box and Send are locked and a note under the box says why, for example "AI features need a paid plan. Choose one for this organization to switch them on." Admins get a link to Choose a plan or Go to billing.
Transport today
With the TMS add-on, Transport today sums up what waits in transport. It shows up to 4 tiles, most urgent first, and only for counts above zero:
| Tile | Opens |
|---|---|
| Late orders | Tracking, filtered to late orders |
| Issues to sort out | Issues |
| Pallet receipts to check | Pallets, the receipts to check |
| Waiting for documents | Documents |
| Ready to invoice | Invoices, ready to invoice |
| Quotes awaiting an answer | Quotes that were sent |
| Carrier costs to explain | Costs to explain |
| Payments to match | Payments, the bank tab |
More than four become a line such as "4 more things in TMS". Open TMS opens the TMS. When every count is zero: All up to date, "Nothing in transport is waiting for you right now." Organizations without the add-on do not see this section.
Workspaces
Workspaces shows a card per workspace, with the count next to the heading.
- A card has the workspace's avatar or initials, its name, its description (or "No description") and what it holds, for example "1 project · 3 folders".
- Default marks the organization's default workspace; Private marks a workspace only its members and admins can open.
- Click a card to open the workspace.
- The ⋯ menu (Workspace options) has Open for everyone. Admins also get Rename and Avatar (both open the workspace settings), Members and visibility, and Delete.
- Admins see New workspace on the right of the heading while the organization is not read-only.
With no workspace yet, the section says "No workspaces yet". Members read "An administrator of your organization can create the first one." Workspaces in depth are on Projects, tables and views.
Recently opened
Recently opened lists up to 6 projects, the most recently changed first. Each row shows the project, its workspace (or "No workspace") and when it changed. Click a row to open the project. Before there is anything to show: "Nothing opened yet", "Open a project and it will be waiting for you here."
Announcements
Announcements shows up to 3 posts from Quanty, each with its date. Click one to read it. Show all appears when there are more and opens the list of all posts. Without posts the section is hidden.
The top-right corner
In the top-right corner of Home is Help and support, which opens the help page. When AI is off and you may pay for the organization, an Upgrade button takes its place: "Upgrade to turn on the AI features".
When invitations could not be sent
Right after you create an organization, a warning may appear at the top of Home: Some invitations could not be sent. It lists each address that failed and why. Close it with ×, and invite those people again later from Settings, Organizations (see Organizations and roles).
Good to know
- The welcome tour. In an organization with no project yet, Home first shows the welcome tour (see Getting started).
- Records (CRM). There is no separate group for records in the sidebar. Records live in a project an admin marks with Use as records (CRM) (see Records (CRM)).
- Per browser. The sidebar's width, collapse, group order and folded groups, and the agent picked in the composer, are kept in your browser.
- Per person. Shortcuts and your status are yours alone and follow you to every device.
- Read-only organization. Home still shows everything. Creating workspaces and changing shortcuts are off until an admin pays.
- Phones. On a narrow screen the sidebar opens from the menu button and closes when you tap outside it.
