Calendar view
A Calendar view places the rows of a table on a calendar by one of its date columns: "Place this table's rows on a calendar by one of its date columns." With an end date column, a row becomes an event over several days, for example an order from loading to unloading. Dragging an event to another day writes the new date into the table.
Before you start
- Calendar views are part of every plan.
- The table needs a Date column. A table without one says "This table has no date column yet. Add one to the table first."
- Viewers see the calendar and open records. Moving events and changing the view settings need edit rights on the table.
Create a calendar
- In the project rail, click Add view under the table, then Calendar.
- Fill in New calendar and click Create view.
| Field | What it means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The view's name in the rail. "Optional". | Kalendarz załadunków |
| Source table | The table, when you create the view outside a table. | Zlecenia transportowe |
| Date column | Where each row starts. Only date columns are offered. | Załadunek |
| End date column (optional) | Where each row ends. No end date makes every row a single day. | Rozładunek |
| Label events with | The text on each event. Automatic: "the table's first text column." | Zlecenie |
| Colour by | A select column whose option colours paint the events: "Colours come from this column's options, the same palette the grid and the kanban use." No colour keeps one colour. | Status |
Label events with and Colour by sit under More options.
The calendar
The header holds the view's name (click it to rename), the pin for your shortcuts, Undo for your recent changes to the table, Previous, Today, Next, the modes, View settings and the share button.
| Mode | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Month | The default: whole weeks of the month. A day with more events than fit shows "+3". Events over several days run across the days as one bar. |
| Week | Seven days with an All day row and the hours. Events with a time sit at their hour; Multi-day events run along the top. A line marks the Current time. |
| Day | One day, the same way as the week. |
| Agenda | A list of the month's events, day by day. "Nothing scheduled in this period." when it is empty. |
Weeks start on Monday. Previous and Next step by the unit on screen: a day, a week or a month. Click a day's number (Open this day) to open that day in Day. When the period on screen is empty, the calendar points to the nearest row: "Nothing here. The nearest row is later, on 14.11.2026." with Show it.
Work with events
- Open a record. Click an event. The record window opens with every field, comments and history (see The record window). Right-click an event for Open record and Copy link to record.
- Move an event. Drag it to another day. The row's date changes in the table. With an end date column the end moves too, so the event keeps its length; a drop on the same day changes nothing.
- Take it back. Undo in the header (or Ctrl+Z) reverses your last moves.
Moving is a normal edit of the table: the grid and every other view show the new date at once, and the record's History shows the change.
The footer
The footer counts what the calendar could and could not place:
| Count | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "24 scheduled" | Rows with a readable date. |
| "3 with no date yet" | Rows whose date cell is empty. |
| "1 with an unreadable date" | Rows whose date cell holds something that is not a date. |
| "5 hidden by the filter" | Rows left out by the view's filter. |
Rows without a date are not lost: fill in their date in the grid or the record and they appear.
View settings
View settings (the sliders next to the share button) change the columns the view reads: "The source table stays the same. Change the columns the view reads dates, titles and colours from." The fields are the same as when creating it. Click Save: "View settings saved".
If the date column is deleted or changes type, the calendar says "The date column this view is built on was deleted or changed to another type. Pick a date column to see the rows again." and keeps its other settings.
Share a calendar
The share button publishes the calendar as a read-only page, Public or Organization only, the same way as a board (see Kanban boards). Visitors see the month view and can page through the months with the arrows, but cannot move events or open records. Quanty Ghost columns are left out of the shared page.
A colleague outside the project can also get this one view through Share / Access in the view's menu in the rail (see Projects, tables and views).
Good to know
- One table, many calendars. Each calendar is a view with its own name; make one per date column you plan by (loading, unloading, invoice due).
- Deleting the view keeps the rows. "Only the view is deleted. The table and its rows stay."
- Dates come from the table. A date typed in another format is read when it can be; otherwise it is counted as unreadable.
